Many homeowners believe that upgrading their home’s exterior is nothing more than costly required maintenance — but with the right vision and design enhancements, they can also benefit from increased home performance and enhanced property value.
The home featured here is a typical 1980s model, set in a Lakeville subdivision. At approximately 20 years old, exterior maintenance was clearly required. By taking a thoughtful and creative approach that extended beyond simply adding new windows and siding, the owners have brought their property to an entirely new level.
“This project was a great opportunity to bring an integrated approach to a complete exterior renovation,” explained Jim Moras, Exteriors partner. The Exteriors team initially focused on installing new low-maintenance siding and high-efficiency windows.
Additional impact was created by developing a new color scheme with maintenance-free siding and shakes, adding a shed roof over the garage, and installing timber brackets and planter boxes.
The result? A showcase exterior that offers reduced maintenance and increased energy efficiency, curb appeal and overall home value.
