Remodeling: small is beautiful.

Highmark does many remodeling projects each year, from small (powder room) to major (greatroom/master suite additions). “Because we’re a custom builder, there’s a perception that we only do whole-house renovations,” says Matt Kruckeberg, a Project Manager at Highmark. “But we do lots of kitchens and baths as well. Innovative materials and design are just as important—maybe more important—in small spaces.” 

The process starts with a consult at a client’s home. “At that first meeting, clients tell us about their vision. We go over their ideas and budget,” says Matt. “Then we come back with a range of options, and ideas on how to make the most of their remodeling dollars.”

When the scope of the project and budget are more clearly defined, a contract can be drawn up and plans created.

One of the things that differentiates Highmark is the presence of an architect and interior designer at the outset. “Their skills are all about the best use of space and the details that take it from ordinary to extraordinary,” says Matt.
